Young Leaders Pathway Handbook for YAC Leaders
This handbook contains all of the essential information you need for hosting Young Leaders at your YAC branch. This guidance has been created for all our branches to utilise. However, as Affiliate and After-school branches are responsible for their own safe recruitment and safeguarding processes, some of this guidance is only applicable to our Managed branches.
The handbook has four sections:

A two-page summary to give to prospective Young Leaders information about what the role involves and how to apply.
Please direct prospective new Young Leaders to complete this application form, which is slightly different to our standard YAC volunteer application form.

Young Leader Onboarding Checklist
Use this checklist to ensure each step of the Young Leader onboarding process is completed in the correct order.
Code of Conduct for YAC Leaders and YAC Young Leaders
A summary of the Code of Conduct to discuss with new Young Leaders.
Use this template to record any communication with the Young Leader and/or their parent/carer throughout the programme.
Mentors can use this template to record meetings with Young Leaders every three months across the full 24-month programme.
Young Leaders and their mentors can use this template to record the skills they have developed in each YAC session and their progress throughout the programme.
