YAC Census 2026

What is the YAC Census?

Every year, each YAC branch is required to submit some information about their members and leaders/assistants as part of the YAC Census. Conducting a census gives us up-to-date and accurate data to help us understand who accesses YAC, both in relation to young people and YAC leaders and assistant leaders. The census asks about members’ and leaders’:

  • Age
  • Gender
  • Ethnic background
  • Disabilities, special educational needs or long-term illnesses

This information will help us to provide better support and strengthen our links between the CBA and our network of branches.

Collecting your branch’s census information is quick and hassle-free – we simply ask you to prompt all of your members’ parents/carers and your volunteers to contribute to a short tally sheet during your YAC session, ensuring anonymity and avoiding lots of paperwork. The branch leader then records the data from the tally sheet on an online form to share it with YAC HQ.

To reflect our two permanent online branches and ensure branches who might run an online session in October are included, we have added an option on the survey for online activity. Please use the instructions which relate to your session delivery in October as outlined in the Instruction Letter linked below.

We have created a letter for you to share with your members’ parents/carers. You may wish to circulate this before your YAC session and provide a printed copy at your session.

Information for parents/carers (Word doc)

There are two different tally sheets to be completed on behalf of members (by their parents/carers) and by YAC leaders/assistants. You will need to print these and bring them to your October 2026 session.
