How fun is it to do archaeology? Caleb (10)

Hello Caleb,

Archaeology has a lot of fun positive points as you get to work outdoors (although then again it depends on the weather! Some very muddy days are not so fun…) and you get to do many different things: digging, drawing, taking photos, etc. Also, depending on what kind of archaeological site you are working on, you might uncover interesting artefacts from many different periods!

I specialised in osteology personally so I was always happy to be excavating skeletons (and I was lucky enough to work on many cemeteries in France, Ireland and England!) but maybe you have your own interest?

The good thing about archaeology is that it is very varied and whatever you enjoy doing, there will probably be a job in archaeology where you can use your skills and interests.
