Our newly opened archaeology displays run chronologically from the Ice Ages to AD1600. They include Stone Age to the Iron Age and the Roman town of Caesaromagus. Highlights range from a Bronze Age gold diadem, the Anglo-Saxon princely burial from Broomfield to the Tudor palace at New Hall.

The museum is open daily 10am to 5pm (BST) and 10am to 4pm (GMT) apart from Christmas Day, Boxing day and New Year’s Day. Museum admission and parking are free.
