Join a YAC Branch Team

Volunteering with YAC

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the teams at our established branches. As a Branch Assistant, you’ll help the leaders plan and run hands-on activities, supervise the members, and share your passion for heritage.

YAC clubs are run by supportive teams of people with a wide range of skills and expertise. They are a great environment in which volunteers can develop team working, communication, organisation and facilitation skills while pursuing their interest in archaeology.

As a YAC volunteer, you learn how to manage groups of young people, how to communicate well with people with a wide range of ages and abilities, how to safely plan and deliver exciting learning experiences; you develop your understanding of learning styles and abilities, health and safety, child protection and, last but not least, archaeology!

Where YAC Needs You Most!

All of our YAC branches are happy to hear from prospective new branch assistants. However the following YAC branches are in particular need of new assistants to keep their branches running:

You can find out more about volunteering with the YAC here: Become a volunteer. Please note that affiliated YACs will have their own procedures for recruiting volunteers and the YAC leader will be able to advise you on this.
