Pictish royal centre discovered in Aberdeenshire village
Archaeologists from the University of Aberdeen’s Northern Picts Project have been investigating the village of Rhynie in Aberdeenshire, believed to be an important royal centre of the Picts during the 5th and 6th centuries AD. Discoveries have included high-status artefacts, burials, carved stones and a fortified settlement.
