Digging on site in Bexley

Bexley YAC is open to everyone aged 8–16 years. We get involved in all sorts of activities, including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, taking part in excavations, experimental archaeology and lots more.

Starting this year we are running a training programme, using the BAJR Passport, for our older members so they have a national recognised record of the skills they have been taught to take onto college or a work placement.

Bexley YAC is based in Bexley in Greater London/ Kent border and usually meets once a month. In the summer we meet at various sites in and around the Bexley area and in the winter we meet at Bexley Archives and Local Studies.

All our leaders are DBS checked and they all wear red shirts with names on.

We charge a joining fee of £10 then £3 per session. All our sessions are booked on a first come first served basis.

A team of volunteers runs the club: if you want to know more about how we recruit YAC volunteers and make sure children at YAC clubs are well looked after, check out our FAQs.

If you’d like to get involved with Bexley YAC, get in touch with the team using the details above.
