The Sill YAC is an affiliated club of the YAC network lead by staff from the Discovery Centre who have arranged special monthly sessions for the budding archaeologists of Hadrian’s Wall and The Uplands.

People have lived, worked, explored and played in Northumberland National Park for thousands of years, leaving a rich legacy of settlement, agriculture and pastoralism, industry, religion and belief. From the stone tools, rock art and hillforts of people in prehistory, the Roman frontier, medieval farms and fields and Tudor strongholds to historic villages and country houses, the evidence for people in the past is everywhere and has shaped the identity of people today. Steeped in prehistoric hill forts and Roman ruins, rugged castles and defiant bastles, Northumberland National Park is bursting with history.
