Rare Anglo-Saxon coin discovered in Shetland

Archaeologists from Archaeology Shetland and the University of Aberdeen have unearthed a coin of 10th-century Anglo-Saxon King Ethelred in Nesting, eastern Shetland Mainland. This is not only the most northerly find of an Anglo-Saxon coin but shows evidence of Viking-age trade routes across Britain in the early medieval period.
