What do you think archaeologists of the future will find that tells them about us? Rose (7)

Dear Rose, that’s a very interesting question! When you think about it, a lot of what we find from past civilisations is their rubbish, things that were broken (pots…) and/or things were thrown away (remains from meals, shells, bones…). I think archaeologists of the future will have to deal with a lot of plastic and a lot of unsavoury rubbish!

Of course, they will also find evidence of our settlements: buildings, roads, etc.
Just like we do with clues from the past, they will have to piece the evidence together and hopefully, they will have a good understanding of the lives we led.

Unlike people from the past, we use media a lot and have so many photos, videos and written records that maybe (if they haven’t been destroyed and archaeologists from the future find them!) they won’t even need to excavate anything to get to know our civilisation!
