Conisbrough Castle’s unique keep has been dramatically re-presented as part of a major Heritage Lottery Funded project, and the site is now open to the public. The lofty 12th century keep of this very well-preserved building, now complete with its restored roof and floors, is a magnificent sight. It had a major role to play in the Wars of the Roses, was once owned by Richard of York and even featured in Sir Walter Scottโs Ivanhoe.
