Rusty YAC at Weston-super-Mare
‘Rusty Club’ is Weston Museum’s YAC and is open to everyone aged 8–16 years. The club is named after our mascot, ‘Rusty the Iron Age Dog’, who is inspired by a skeleton in our galleries. Weston-super-Mare has an amazing history from prehistoric times when amazing animals roamed right up to the present day with seaside nostalgia. Children can get inspired by their local history through lots of hands-on activities, including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, playing historical games, and lots more.

Rusty Young Archaeologist’s Club is based at Weston Museum, Weston-Super-Mare, and usually meets once a month on the first Saturday morning of the month. Session times are split between two age groups – our ‘Juniors’ and our ‘Seniors’ and membership fees are charged every 6 months (in either October or April).
A team of staff and volunteers runs the club: if you want to know more about how we recruit YAC volunteers and make sure children at YAC clubs are well looked after, check out our FAQs.
