Benjamin Franklin House is the world’s only remaining Franklin home. During conservation, there was a discovery of bones, both human and animal, under the floor of what is today the Houseโ€™s Seminar Room (originally the garden in Franklinโ€™s day). From a one-metre wide, one-metre deep pit, over 1200 pieces of bone were retrieved and dated to Franklinโ€™s period at the House. After research, the bones were discovered to be remnants of an anatomy school run from the House by William Hewson, son-in-law of Franklinโ€™s landlady.

The House can be experienced via Architectural Tours on Fridays, or the Historical Experience Show, a museum-as-theatre performance, on Saturdays and Sundays. Please see our website for the most up-to-date Show/Tour times and booking information.
