What should be in your branch’s Health and Safety Folder?

As you plan with safety in mind you should have the following info:

    • Important contact details with session registers and membership & volunteer forms

    • Activity and session plans, risk benefit assessments and venue assessments

    • Chemicals & hazardous materials and food safety

    • Emergency procedures

Every YAC Branch is different, and so your branch’s Health and Safety Folder should reflect this and bring all your planning into a cohesive and accessible format.

There is guidance and templates for each section here: Health and Safety Toolkit Guidance and Templates.

It is important to consider how this information will be recorded, stored and shared. We have created an overview of this here: Record Keeping

You can create your own Health and Safety Folder using the documentation and storage system you already have. Alternatively, we have provided an example/template version for your use to help bring all your documentation together.
