The YAC Census 2019
YAC Census 2019: What is it and why are we doing it?
Every year YAC-HQ gathers information from all our branches across the UK.
This information gives us an idea of what all our young archaeologists have been doing over the past 12 months and it gives us some ideas for new sessions, outings and activities.
It is also an opportunity for your leaders to tell us about what training they might like and support they may need to help run the clubs.
As part of this process we also undertake a ‘census’. A census is a ‘count or survey of a group of people’, in this case our young archaeologists. The census will tell us how many members attended a branch meeting, their gender, age, ethnic background and if there are any additional needs in the group. It is totally anonymous and will be filled in by your parents or carer
You might be wondering why we ask this information; the main reason is to make sure the YAC is available and interesting to everyone, no matter their age, background, different abilities etc. This information lets us know where we are doing well and where we can do better.
Your leaders will let you and your parents/carer know that the census will be taking place and provide more detailed information and instruction.
If you or your parents/carers would like to know more about this, please do get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to answer any of your questions.
