Introducing our Newest Young Archaeologists' Club: Wells YAC
YAC-HQ is pleased to announce that we can now add Wells YAC to our growing number of UK YAC branches. The branch is hosted by Wells and Mendip Museum in Somerset.
Wells YAC is an affiliate member of the YAC network. The club will get involved in all sorts of activities, including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, taking part in excavations, and lots more.
The branch will be taking a close look at prehistory from September 2019: the Ancient Britons developed their own culture, religion and trading network long before the Romans arrived. There will be lots of hands on activities, crafts, handling of museum collections and frequent visits by local experimental archaeologists and craftsmen!
Juliet Faith, Branch Leader, says 'The Roman's did not 'civilise' Britain. The ancient Britain's had their own unique culture, trade network, language and rich spiritual life long, long before the Roman's invaded'. We are inviting you to come on a journey of discovery into our ancient past'.
YAC-HQ are really pleased to add Wells YAC to its network of branches and encourage anyone in the local area, who wishes to participate, to contact the club: Wells YAC
