Funding Success for YAC in Scotland
Calling all our Scottish YAC Volunteers!
YAC-HQ has recently secured funding from Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to support the growth of the YAC network and enhance the current provision for our Scottish branches.
The first stage of the project is a survey designed to gauge the provision, by the Council for British Archaeology, for the YAC branches in Scotland; to ascertain gaps in that provision, identify potential barriers to participation specific to Scotland and a means of overcoming them with the support of the CBA, the broader YAC network, our partners at Archaeology Scotland and supportive external organisations. It also seeks to understand how we can best support individuals and organisations to create and sustain new YAC branches, particularly in areas where provision is low or absent.
We will use the results from the survey as the basis for a Development Day for all Scottish YAC branches, prospective branches and interested heritage/archaeology organisations operating in Scotland. This, in turn, will help shape the work and better tailor the support we, and others, can offer to the YAC network in Scotland.
If you are a YAC leader, assistant YAC leader or volunteer helper in Scotland we would appreciate your feedback. You can access the survey below. It should take about 10 minutes to complete and you can save it as you go.
The deadline for completion is 11th March 2019.
