Ask an Archaeologist Day!
Have you ever wished you had a professional archaeologist around to answer all your questions?
If you’re like us and have loads of questions about archaeology that you wish someone would answer, the Ask an Archaeologist day on the 17th of July can help!
As part of our fortnight of the Festival of Archaeology, we’re getting archaeologists to share their knowledge and their best stories online. What would you like to know? You can join in too - ask a grown-up with a Twitter account to share your questions and add on the hashtag #AskanArcheologist and archaeologists all over the world will be able to share their answers! Who knows what you might learn?
There’s nothing archaeologists enjoy more than sharing how much they love archaeology, so ask your questions to make them happy.
There is no such thing as a silly question, so long as it's about archaeology we want to answer it!
Last year, for example, young archaeologists wanted to know: “What is your favourite object that you have ever found on a site?” or “Which film shows the best archaeology?” If these have given you any ideas for questions of your own, don't be shy!
Think up your own questions now and don’t forget the date – Wednesday the 17th of July.
If you’ve got any more questions, we’ve got a whole section for Ask an Archaeologist day on the Festival of Archaeology website and you can find it right here: https://festival.archaeologyuk.org/ask.
