Ayrshire YAC

The Ayrshire YAC is open to everyone aged 8-16 years. YAC clubs get involved in all sorts of activities, including visiting and investigating archaeological sites and historic places, trying out traditional crafts, taking part in excavations, and lots more. Please see the 'More Information' section for our current schedule of activities.

The Ayrshire YAC is usually based at Dundonald Castle and Visitor Centre (although this may change depending on sessions) once a month. There is a £8 annual joining fee and sessions are free on the day.

The branch is is an affiliated club of the YAC network lead by Lauren Welsh and Kirsteen Croll. "We are very excited to be starting up our YAC this year and providing great experiences for young people. We have a fantastic timetable set up for the coming year and cannot wait to get started! Our current membership for the year is already full, however, we do have a waiting list if you wish to join it."

The Friends of Dundonald Castle SCIO are a registered Scottish Charity. Our main objectives are public education, community engagement, the creation of local jobs and providing access to, and protecting the fabric of our castle. If you want to know more about how we recruit YAC volunteers and make sure children at YAC clubs are well looked after, check out our FAQs.

If you’d like to get involved with the Ayrshire YAC, get in touch with the team using the details above or via their social media accounts: Twitter @DundonaldCastle or Facebook
