What is archaeology? An adventure? Dirty knees and filthy fingernails? The appeal of the past, the magic of marvellous sites, the mysteries hidden in a dusty museum? Probably all of these together, and still more...
Portraying the past
This brilliant competition, which is open to everyone across Europe, asks you to explore what you think archaeology is, by drawing, painting, taking a photo or making a video.
There's a special category for kids (aged 0–12)... and the prize is a weekend trip for three people to either Athens or Rome (the prize includes travel, accommodation and access to some sites and museums too)!!
Sounds good... how do I enter?
You can find full details about the competition and how to enter by downloading this PDF (make sure you find an adult to help you understand the rules and how to send in your entries!)
The competition is free to enter.
The closing date has been extended to 23rd August 2015 – so you've still got time to get inspired and create an artwork that shows You(r) Archaeology.
