Southwell's been yarn bombed
Thanks to an amazing effort by the people of Southwell – from primary school children, Beavers and Brownies, to 'knit and natter' groups and care home residents – the whole town went woolly on Saturday 16th September 2017!
The yarn bomb was organised by Sue Rodgers, who has been running our Newark & District YAC for more than 16 years. Sue and her knitters and crocheters undertook the yarn bomb to raise money for YAC and the Alzheimer's Society.
You can find out more about the preparations for the yarn bomb on the YAC website.
Help Sue's fabulous fundraising effort!
Please do support the fundraising effort of this wonderful woolly project! You can donate securely on the dedicated Justgiving fundraising page, and all proceeds will be shared between the Alzheimer's Society and the Young Archaeologists' Club.
It is hoped that the knitted and crocheted display will stay in place for up to three weeks, so if you're in the area, head to Southwell to see the woolly wonderland that Sue and her amazing volunteers have created.
And if you can't get there in person, check out the photos and video below.
Huge thanks to Sue and everyone in Southwell for all their nifty knitting and crafty crocheting! It really does look amazing...
