YAC London Wall Walk - Tuesday 24 July

What happens when some YAC branch leaders, a CBA trustee and young people from YAC@UCL Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) dress in medieval costume and walk three laps of London’s city walls?

Joe F Sarah D We’ll find out on Tuesday 24 July! The sponsored walk is being carried out by a group of volunteers as part of the CBA’s Dig Deep for YAC campaign. All money raised will go to help support the national network of YAC branches.

The Medieval themed walk was inspired by ideas from YAC@UCL members and it is hoped that upwards of £1,000 can be raised. Walking around London now, you cannot see much left of the city walls, but they would have been an important part of London in the Roman and Medieval period. The route will pass existing parts of the wall and landmarks like St Paul’s, the Thames riverside, the Tower of London and the Museum of London.

If you would like to sponsor the team you can visit their JustGiving fundraising page. Alternatively you can donate by text by texting YACL12 followed by the amount you want to give (£1, £2, £3, £4, £5, or £10) to 70070. All money raised will help support YAC’s vital work.

Sarah Dhanjal, YAC London Camden Branch says

We are hoping for good weather - by Pylonius! I am not sure how many members we will have - it may be a bit of a small event, but I think we can make £1000. Anything you can spare, when you can, would be great - thanks!
