First Aid

YAC First Aid training course There are several forms available on the [Branch Safety Forms](/leaders/safety page) of the Leaders’ Area which will help with the safe running of your YAC Branch. Below contains guidance regarding First Aiders, First Aid Training, First Aid Kits, Dealing with Accidents and carrying out Risk Assessments.

First Aiders and Training

Required Number of First Aiders

Every Branch should have a minimum of two registered First Aiders, and a qualified First Aider must be present at each meeting in order for YAC insurance to be valid. YAC HQ will cover the cost of training for two Leaders in a new Branch, and one person per year for an established Branch.

YAC Organised Training

  2. Select ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ as the course needed from the drop down menu
  3. Set ‘number of places required’ as 1
  4. Choose a date range
  5. Enter a relevant postcode or town
  6. Click search; this will then bring back a range of courses near to you. Please look for a preferred option and a back up course in case your first choice is fully booked
  • Contact the YAC Admin Assistant at YAC HQ with the details of the dates and locations of the course you wish to attend.
  • YAC HQ will then make the booking and send all of the relevant details through to you as they arrive

Please note, we will be charged for the course if you do not attend or if you do not give ten days notice of wishing to cancel and we may have to charge you for this cost.
