A big part of Field Recording is finding your site on the ground. Investigating maps and photographs is a great way of finding a site, and can help you discover surviving buildings.
Once a site is found a Grid Reference is taken to allow other people to find the site and explore it further.
Your mission is to take a grid reference with the HFL app.
You can take a grid reference for the sites shown in the video above, or take a grid reference for your house, school or other location you know well.
Practice using the different mapping layers to take your grid reference.
Be sure to place the crosshairs in the centre of the site or building you choose.
Can you take an accurate grid reference? It's over to you!
