Careers in Archaeology

This page explores some of the careers in archaeology from working with finds, to underwater archaeology and teaching archaeology as an academic.

If you are interested in future careers in archaeology The Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) has two ways in which you can learn more about careers in archaeology and learn more about archaeology. YAC UK is a magazine based subscription package aimed at children under the age of 17 who are interested in archaeology. The YAC Branches are a network of local branches where children can get involved in hands-on activities on a regular basis.

There are no rules about what school subjects you need to study if you want to be an archaeologist! It is good to study a range of different subjects. If you are interested in learning more about studying Archaeology please visit the CBA’s Studying Archaeology page.
